Off Roading with the Family

I couple weekends ago we went out to Ocotillo Wells, down in San Diego. I brought camera, but forgot to get it out. When we got there it was pouring!! So setting up camp was not going to happen. So my uncle let us sleep in a trailer that he parks out there. The next morning after delicious pancakes and bacon we set up camp. About 30 mins after we got camp all set up, this mini tornado like thing swept thru our camp, just our camp. Ever where else we were told it was eerily calm. The tornado ripped thru camp and tore our tent right out of the ground, our easy up tent, went gliding thru the sky, rolls of paper towels took off like they were kites.

After we set up camp again. We rented a buggy that seats four so that we could go out as a family. We had so so so so so so so so so so much fun!! The pictures below are when I decided to go up a hill, with the kids that John didn't want to take the buggy up. Admittedly maybe he was right. But it was a blast. You can't see it well and these pictures although show some of the excitement, they don't show the true scariness of it all. The short story is the trail went right, but the trail was not wide enough for the buggy. So when I hit the thin part of the trail, my wheels bounced left instead of right to follow the trail. LOL I was all smiles. I was stuck and laughing. John rushed up the hill to get the kids out as everyone else assessed the situation, to find a way out of the sticky situation. My cousins directed me to back up in doing so my front drivers wheel slipped down the hill, and my back passenger tire went up the mountain. Leaving me on only two wheels. I was still laughing and all smiles until I saw my cousin, that has been doing this forever, the one standing under us taking the pictures, moved quickly out of the way. And my other cousin jumped on the front passenger side. I knew then we were in trouble. I could touch the ground with my hand, and I was scared. It was a good 50ft down and we were going to roll the whole way. As we sat in the buggy, and Brian held down the front, John, Brad and Kandance bounced my back end around so all my wheels were on the ground, and the rolling down the hill was avoided. It slowed me down a bit, but not much. I drove another few hrs. It was so much fun that we decided that we are buying one similar to it. :)

If you look down the hill you can see a figure walking up thats John after he rushed the kids down the hill, they are hanging out with my youngest cousin in that big pile of ATVs. You can kinda see the seriousness of the situtation. And how far we were going to fall.

Golfing

Before John deployed the last time we took the boys miniture golfing.

Chuck E Cheese

The last time I took the boys to Chuck E Cheese, I ready to pull my hair out. It was for my niece's bday and John was deployed, and I took the boys by myself and Noah didn't have any way to be mobile. And I was ready to be checked into a crazy house.

So when Noah's therapist wanted to do a make up session at the one here in town I was not so excited!! I told her only if we could do it on a day that John could go. So with little excitement we took the boys to the local Chuck E Cheese. ACTUALLY it was one of the most enjoyable experences ever. It did help that all I did was walk around and take pictures. But it was wonderful. Noah hung out with Vedo-his Early Interventionist, and Isaac hung out with John. We got there a little early so the boys could have pizza.

Making silly faces as we waited for the pizza:

Santa Monica Pier

John's best friend had bought some new quads, and wanted to take John out on them, so his girlfirend and I decided to take the kids to the Santa Monica Pier. A place that I have never been, but it was a wonderful time. Of course I forgot my camara so all the pictures were taken with my phone. Sorry for the awful quailty

Isaac was so excited to ride this dragon thing. He was great until it started going really fast and high. But I was able to talk him through it. And he was happy and excited again when we got on the ground.

Over all it was a fun and wonderful day
