So October is always one of our busiest month. And come the end of the month, well its hard to keep up on things. We had our fair share of activities this year too. The month started with my Mom coming to visit, and I have pictures of that somewhere, but I can't find them, and ended with Vegas! We also found the local pumpkin patch and took the kids. I was a bit disappointed since we didn't get to actually pick the pumpkins off the vine like we did in Hawaii. We got to pick them out of rows and pre-picked pumpkins. But either way we had fun. I just love the picture of the boys together Noah loves Isaac so much, and since Isaac has a hard time with the way Noah drives his senses crazy, it was good that I caught a pictures of them both enjoying their time together since it seems far and few between.
A few days after the pumpkin patch we set out to carving the pumpkins. It was fun to watch Isaac with the pumpkins. I missed the actual shot of Isaac reaching into the pumpkin, but he did, only after John put a sucker in there. He wouldn't do it again, and was scared even when John put his hand in there, hence him hugging him in the picture. LOL. John and I carved the pumpkins and Isaac stuck his with decorating pegs that we found at Walmart last yr for 50 cents. Mine is the spider and John's the the wolves.
Suddenly it was the day of our first Halloween function, and we hadn't even begun picking and assembling our costume theme that we had picked for this year. So we drug out last yrs costumes and recycled, figuring no one would ever know that we were it last year. But John spilt the beans at our first function. Anyway Isaac was Batman, Noah was Robin, John was Joker, and I was Posion Ivy. We took the boys to John's work Trunk or Treat, and a Haunted House for kids, which Isaac laughed at all the people and then asked the guy holding the chain saw if he could play with it! I was like GOOD NIGHT!! This kid doesn't get dangerous at ALL!! Then to the ward's Trunk or Treat. At the ward trunk or treat, which was actually 3 wards combined. Isaac went to half the cars then told John "I'm done, I don't want any more." Then had like 2 pieces and then informed us "I don't want anymore you can have it. I don't like it" What 3 yr old doesn't like candy???
The main reason that October is a big month for us is because it is our Anv month. And we try to do something with just us for a few days. It doesn't always happen but we try to do it every year. This year was our 5 yrs Anv. We decided to go to Vegas without the kids. We picked Vegas cause it wasn't too far way, and there seemed to be lots of things to do. Besides gamble and drink. We actually had alot of fun. I have been to Vegas a few times, but never really went in any of the hotels. So when John said it was a fun place to go I was sceptic. But WOW!! Is it a beautiful place. Well the inside of those hotels are well AMAZING!! Its like cities inside of hotels. The inside looks like the outside. With the ceilings painted like blue skies, and the stores are little roof like things that make it look like shops would on a street. The Venitan, Paris, and Ceasar's Palace were the most impressive to me. WOW!! We did get to go to some other fun stuff. We went and saw a hpynotist. And we both got hypnotized. Which was an experience that I didnt' expect. It wasn't like I thought that it would at all. It was like a dream. It was WEIRD!! But fun, and if you get a chance to go, go see Marc Savard. And if you go before Nov 25, 2009 let me know cause we have 4 free tickets. But most of all it was a great time with each other and with out the kids.
Lastly an update on the kids and how things are going in that department. We had Noah evaluated with the pushing of a dr, Isaac's OT, and the WIC lady. And to be honest now I am glad we did. He is at a 6-9 month level with most of his skills. So he is now recieving PT, and OT, as well as eye moment/muscle Early Intervention person from a company called the JR Blind. With his PT he is not cruising on furniture, which he had never done before, as well as trying to walk so he is making huge improvements. I do have a video of him walking behind one of those toys somewhere. But I can't find it either.
As for Isaac well...we took him to the school district to get him some help, and the decided that he needed to be tested to find out where his falls on the autisic spectrum. That doesn't mean that he is "autisic" but that he has alot of tendancies of autism. So they did the test and told me that he falls on the spectrum, and that they would finish up the paper work and get back to me. Meanwhile they sent me to the county to get him tested there as well to see what kind of help they can give me. So poor Isaac has been through ringer of evals lately. But either way I am confinant that he will get the help he needs. And that with the 5 hrs of therapy I have between both boys, that I will be a busy busy mom!!
