Four Years and Counting...

I know that YOU don’t really consider this day to be our wedding Anniversary, but it is the day we were legally married, even though you weren’t there. We can celebrate February too if you want.

1. What is his name?
John: post-navy name, Christian: pre-navy days and his family still calls him that, Babe, hun, daddy, and whatever else you probably could think of along those lines.

2. Who eats more?
For the most part John does. But there was one time when we were dating and we ordered a stuffed crust pizza, (OH! So yummy, my favorite) and I ate more than half the pizza, and he only had 2 pieces.

3. Who said I love you first?
I am not really sure about that one, it was probably me, but I really can’t remember. But I do know that it happened in the first 3 weeks.

4. Who is taller?
John is the perfect amount taller than me. He being 6’1” and myself 5’9”. I say perfect because when I wear heels, which I love too, he is just half a head taller than me, and that is kissing made easy right there.

5. Who is smarter?
That depends on who you ask. And what kinda smart you find important. I am more “book” smart. BUT he definitely got the “street” smarts out of the two of us. And these days since I can’t remember didally squat, so I think he wins that one.

6. Who is more sensitive?
OH defiantly me! I come from a very emotional family, and I did get some of that. I have my “girly” moments with emotion. Over reactions and all.

7. Who does the laundry?
I do most of the time, but he does start an occasional load, but the finishing, folding and putting away is mainly left up to me. But mainly by my choice, cause he would help if I asked him too, but I don’t like the way he folds things. HEHE

8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
It depends on the house and where the door is. John thinks that he needs to sleep in between me and the door to protect me from that baddie intruder. Which I love that he wants to protect me and I really don’t care which side of the bed anyway.
9. Who pays the bills?
Well he works super super hard to make sure that I can do the actual bill paying. He gets up at 4am every morning to be at work on time, and sacrifices so much for our family so we can have the wonderful life style that we do.

10. Who cooks more?
I love to cook more than he does, so I do. But once again he would if I asked him too, told him what to make and gave him the recipe. Cause he would do anything to make me happy.

11. Who is more stubborn?
I think that depends on what we are being stubborn about, BUT overall I would say I am. I can hold a grudge well for months, and remember exactly why I needed to be stubborn. Well just say that in our short 4 yrs of marriage, I have not yet taught him that I am ALWAYS right.

12. Who is the first to admit they are wrong?
Normally him, he is always the one to apologize for any fight first. Once again back to I am ALWAYS right thing, but mainly because I have the hardest time saying the words I am sorry. I can do acts that mean I am sorry, but those words are just too hard for me to say.

13. Who has more siblings?
We both have the same amount, 5. But he has more brothers and I have more sisters.

14. Who wears the pants in the family?
Well I love skirts, but not practical with kids.

15. What do you like to do together?
Everything, except shower. He likes his personal space. It makes my day when I can spend it with him.

16. Who eats more sweets?
Well lately him, but that is cause I am on a mission to lose all the weight that I gained in the four years that we have been married. Being prego for 3 yrs will do a toll on your body.

17. Guilty Pleasures?
Video games, and the internet. Both can be real time wasters, but love them still the same.

18. How did you meet?
Courtesy of The Bus in Hawaii. I had totaled my car weeks before. So on my way home from the Battleship Missouri where I was working, he got on the stop after mine. We talked all the way to town. I gave him my card. Exactly one week later he called me. I was at work, I couldn’t talk so I said I would call him back. But when I went to call the number that showed up on my cell phone, it went to an automated system asking for an extension, since I didn’t know what that was, I just hoped he would call back, but no such luck! Three days later he showed up for a tour of the battleship, and I got to give him one. And we spent every waking moment together for the next three weeks until he left to go back to the mainland.

19. Who proposed?
Well the actual decision to get married came because John was picking orders and he wanted me to follow him to Japan without being married. I told him that I was not going to following him half way around the world, unless we were getting married. He then without skipping a beat, said, “Then marry me!” We had been dating 7 months, a few months later when we were in the same state, John took me to the beach, it was July and FREEEZING!! Our puppy was cuddled in my sweatshirt front pocket, I was cold so I put my hands in John’s pocket on his sweatshirt and I felt a BOX! OMGoodness and that was how I ruined his proposal.

John we have had an amazing four years together. We are just starting our life, our family, and our plans. I am so happy that I that you got on that bus and that you called me after following the rules and waiting a week. We have had some trials in that time, but don’t we all. Those trials have just made us stronger and closer. You make me so happy. I love the way that you can make me laugh when I am sad. You are a great dad, wonderful husband, and awesome priesthood holder. If our sons would even turn half as funny, supportive, or loving as you, then their wives would be just as lucky. Four years, three moves, two deployments, two kids and one dog later and we are still just as much in love as those first sweet three weeks.

To the LOVE that will go on until the day after FOREVER!!

4:30 is way too early part 2

Real quick after I got Isaac woke up after poking and prodding him for a while, he said he wanted a drink he got up off the couch and went towards the kitchen. I got up to get something then headed to the kitchen going the other way (house goes in a circle). Isaac was not in the kitchen, and I couldn't hear him anywhere so I went to the living room to look for him and about step on him as I found this:
So we decided the poor guy still needed a nap, but it just needed to be cut back to 1 hour. Now he is doing well with sleeping past 7am and even some times 8:30 YEAH!!!

So 4:30 is way to early

Since we have returned from the mainland, Isaac has basically decided that 4:30 is the time to wake up, not matter what the rest of the house thinks. We have been making sure that he doesn't sleep longer then 1.5 hrs during the day, but no fear Isaac still thought that 4:30 was the time to wake up. Well after talking to his new OT and discussing some options, and keeping in mind that I will go crazy if I don't get some time away from him and his energy. We decided that we would try "quiet time" in his room. Where he would stay for 45 mins at first and work up to 2 hrs (slowly). Now this decision was made after Isaac had not really taking any naps for 3 days and still was a happy ENERGIZED 2 yr old. (He had slept 30 mins in the car) and now waking up at 7am (much much more reasonable) So today I decided to give it a whirl. He actually did great staying in his room for the first day, came out a few times, but I just reminded him that he needed to stay in his room until the timer went off. Well after his 45 mins he came down stairs and I was reading a friends blog, and he came and sat next to me, like he often does, and the next thing I know I have this:

This is actually after I had moved him off of me, tried to wake him up and move him some more and nothing is phasing this kid, he actually still alseep as I type this post. NOW if this was Noah just the movement of the couch wakes that kid up. That is a story for another day and post. But I just thought that he was doubled over sniffing his foot was just in need of posting

Well I am off to wake him up or try atleast and I will let you know if he still wakes up at 4:30 tomorrow. Since Noah doesn't wake up until 7, I wish that Isaac would take a cue from that, but we will see.

Pumpkin Patch 2008

So we decided this year that we were going to go to the pumpkin patch early since last year it was all brown and dead by the time we went. Well anyway yesterday was the first day that it was open to the public. So we decide that we would go after nap with some new friends of ours. As we were loading the kids into the car John asked "Do we have an umbrella?" I said "Some where in the car, but this is Hawaii, it probably will 'spit' for a second then stop" Well we got to the pumpkin patch and parked the car, started to walk towards the pumpkin patch and terenchal downpour started. We were all soaked in seconds, poor Noah, well lets just put it that he was not happy at all. Isaac wanted to play in the rain strangely enough. As we waited for the rain to stop we discussed whether or not to leave. And about the time we decided lets go home, the rains stopped and the sun came out in true Hawaii weather. So we got to have a wonderful muddy time as we explored the pumpkin patch.

These first few pictures were taken as it was still raining. And the one's of Isaac, well that is him running away, in the rain and then John chasing him.

Decided to get some pictures before we left, at this point it is still raining, you can tell my John's face.

Stopped Raining by now, so I could come out and take some pictures with our camera, and not get Noah wet.

"Let's get this one Mommy!!"

"I can get it to the checkout stand"

I thought that this wagon was there for photo opportunities, well as the lady pointed out "Umm, excuse me that is my wagon" Oops

They had a battered animal petting zoo, oh ah I mean a petting zoo there for a $1. So we let Isaac have some fun. I skipped all the petting zoo photos cause the video pretty much sums up what Isaac did the whole time.

Isaac is off to find that perfect pumpkin

Maybe it is over here

Still have not found the perfect pumpkin, lets take a break

I found this FUNKY gourd.

After finding the perfect pumpkin, well Daddy found it, Isaac insisted on carrying it for us.

As we walked back to the car I realized how dirty Isaac had become.

We decided to take off his shoes before all that mud went on the back of John's leather's seats
Ok the raindrops on top of the car just looked so cool. John told me I was a dork to take a picture of them, but here is my attempt at being artistic.

The Zoo

So awhile back I told you we went to the zoo, and that I would post pictures. Well I never got around to loading th pictures on the computer until just a few days ago. So here is our day at the zoo..
Both kids were alseep before we ever got there
Look who is really in focus here. HEHE
You know there had to be atleast one photo showing how much I LOVE giraffes

This is my new favorite picture of Isaac.

Isaac decided after seeing the frogs in the reptile/amphibian area that he was going to hop like a frog.

OK I do know that I have two kids, just Noah was like 2 wks old and all he did during our trip to the zoo was sleep.

They have this really cool Keiki (kids) zoo. Isaac had a ton of fun in that part.
This was a tunnel that he could crawl through, and in the middle you could stand up and look at all these fish.
