Takin a Ride

Since John's car was totaled in the accident. He was able to pick his own car this time (I bought the Saturn when he was deployed). It was a grueling process for me, because he would not make a decision. LOL. But finally we took the time to go look at cars that we had found on craigslist. And the second car we looked at was a Red 1998 Converible Mustang GT. John was in love with it the second we got there. He took it for a ride and was smitten. Isaac on the other hand was concerned that the car was not all there since it didn't have a roof. We let Isaac sit in the back seat of the Mustang as talked to the guy selling it, a road manager for Sublime, which is one of John's favorite bands. Anyway as we sat there and talked to the guy, Isaac suddenly says "Excuse me man, you wanna come home with us in Daddy's new car?" OH MY GOODNESS!!! I was laughing so hard. Late that day we all hopped in the Mustang to take a drive down the PCH. It was a beautiful afternoon/evening the sunset was wonderful. And it was amazing to take it all in with the top down.

By the time we got out on the open road, Isaac decided that it was too windy, and hid under his blanket the rest of the trip, this picture was not even 10 mins out of town. And now he doesn't like the "Windy Car"
Noah loved every minute of it!!
Scrappy was just happy to get in the car with us.

So if you don't turn....

you will hit my house. That's the way that I always gave people directions until now. On Jan 23, 2011 at 130am. A drunk driver hit our house, then fled. After being caught over 1.5 miles away, with his face all broken and covered in blood.

Since we were sleeping it was a startling way to wake up. I woke to what sounded like a bunch of bricks falling and glass breaking. I laid in bed and listening not sure what had happened. Scrappy was growling low which freaked me out more than anything. I tried to wake my sleeping husband, but he just rolled over. A few minutes later I heard talking and Scrappy started growling again. I thought someone had broken in, I was terrified. Suddenly I heard the front door, it sounded like someone was trying to get out of the house, not able to open the door due to the fancy child safety locks. I PUSHED John out of bed to wake him up. He responded "WHAT THE HELL!!" I said "I think someone is breaking in." He went down stairs, and the police officer, which was the noise at the door I heard, knocked on the door again. John answered the door, as the alarm started to beep in the background, I heard the police woman ask "Do you own a gold Saturn?" John said yes, she responded "It's been in an accident." John said "let me get some shoes on and shut the alarm off and I will meet you outside." Meanwhile the alarm is sounding the alarm company is calling. John walks into the dinning room to shut the alarm off and goes back into the living room. I come down stairs and go to get my shoes out of th garage and all I see it this:

John never even saw the dinning room as he shut of the alarm. HAHA My entire reaction for the night was OH MY GOSH!!! Over and over!!

After walking outside, and saying OMGOSH again. I told John I wanted to move. An idea he shot down right away!! LOL

The van first hit John's car than hit the wall, and than bounced of the house. The cinder block wall is what I heard and what broke the window.
John's car was facing the other way when it was parked

When the tow truck took John's car away the hood fell off, and so did the bumper. The tow truck driver laughed and said I am sure its totaled!

Where the car bounced off the house

The only part of the inside that was damaged was a stress fracture in the dry wall of the corner that he bounced off.

Where to even begin

I think I forgot I had a blog. To be honest ever since we got smart phones I have not really been on my laptop. But today I found some really cool functions on my phone and computer that made syncing them easier, also making it easier to get picutres off of it. So to follow will be random blog post from things that we have done since I got my Droid. We have been busy like always, and now we are gearing up for deployment AGAIN!!

I took the boys to the park the other day. And it was nice and windy Isaac got a kite for his 4th birthday that we have never used. So we took it out. Isaac was very excited about flying the kite, but was quickly bored by the kite. I did get a few shots before he decided he was done.
